The block of the month (January 2014) is a foundation pattern, but you can also sew it the traditional way. When making a double sided Log Cabin, take a 15 x 15 cm piece of fiberfill. Draw the blok twice on teabag paper (TB). Name one piece A1-5, B and the other A1’-5’, B’.

How to sew:

Put B’ right side of the fabric (RSF) down on the table.
Put one piece of the fiberfill on top of B’, continue you work in this corner of the block.
Put A1 RSF up and A2 RSF down on top of each other, put it at the position of.
Put a piece of TB on top of this and pin in place.
Sew the line between A1 and A2, You also sew through triangle B’.
Tear away the TB carefully and fold open A2.
Put A3 on top of A2 , put the TB back on top of it and pin in place.
Sew the line between A1 and A3, tear away the TB carefully and fold open A3.
Repeat this order when you sew the next pieces.
When all pieces are sewn, pin B on top of A1-5, RSF down.
Turn your work upside down.
Put A1’ on top of triangle B’, put a piece of TB on top of this and pin in place.
Sew the line between A1’ and B’, tear away the TB carefully and fold open A1’ and B (attention, B is at the backside).
Pin A2’ on top of A1’ and follow the instruction above. You now sew through triangle B.
Sew the blocks together as ‘Quilt as you go’-blocks.
